Ray-gun RIP

I heard on the radio on the way back from Tulsa that President Reagan had passed away. It's good that his suffering is over, but such a shame that he had to pass without remembering his contribution to peace and prosperity in our time.

Most generations can look back at their lives and pick a president that quintessentially defined the world in which they grew up. For some, especially on this D-Day anniversary, it might be Roosevelt, for others Kennedy. But for me, it's difficult to see past the influence of the Reagan years when reflecting on the world during my lifetime. He was the right man for the job at the right time, and I can't help but think that we would still be cold warriors had he not come along when he did.

Best wishes, Gipper, in the great beyond. You've earned it like few others.
