Got a quick haircut this evening and then ran by the grocery store for a few things. While in the grocery store, the girls were walking backwards down the aisle, racing eachother, in spite of my several requests to the contrary.
Fortunately for me (but not for them), right about the time it was getting out of hand, Shelby tripped and fell flat on her back, followed very quickly thereafter by Darby tripping over Shelby. It all happened very quickly. And it was a very interesting sight, my two girls lying there on their backs, one on top of the other, in the middle of a grocery store.
After a brief pause (by me, to make sure no one was seriously injured -- by them, instilled by the shock-and-awe value of the moment... vis-à-vis "Did we just fall flat on our backs?"), I began to laugh and initiated the obligatory parental I-told-you-so lecture.
They didn't do that anymore.
