There was what must have been a massive accident on I-235 this morning, cause we traveled 2.5 miles in thirty minutes, making the girls VERY late for school. Our normally 15-20 minute trip to school in the morning involves a 5-8 minute stint on the highway, of which we only completed half, but in triple the time. We left with just enough time to make it to school under typical conditions, so that was blown out of the water in what was the worst OKC traffic I've ever sat through (during morning rush hour). Once I finally got off the highway and took the streets, it only took seven minutes for us to get to school, but the girls were nowhere near on time, one of the bad points about going to a non-neighborhood school.
On my way to work from the school, and going the opposite direction, the accident was still there, giving me the opportunity to see the extent of the traffic backlog, which went on for miles (good thing I gave up when I did).
Of course, that delay caused a bad-morning trickle-down, including some seriously bad parking.
