Just before baseball practice tonight, Darby and I were warming up. Gentle throws back and forth from maybe ten feet apart. She kept chit-chatting and I kept telling her to shush and pay attention to the ball. Sure enough, no sooner than the last time I said it, she missed the ball. THUNK. It left a mark. Right on her forehead. Can you see it? I felt so bad. But she's a tough girl. Only needed five minutes to shake it off and we were back to warm-ups. And that was it for the chit-chat, you can be sure.
Anyway, the game schedule came out today (see the calendar). First game? TOMORROW. Ugh. And we JUST got uniforms today. Between now and 4:30 tomorrow, I have to get Darby new cleats and a belt. Unfortunately, Shelby will have to skip fencing, too, because her mom is out of town and I can't be in two places (13 miles apart) at once.
