How many ways can I embarrass myself?

Let's see, today at lunch I spilled my soda, belched out loud, and I know there was at least one other thing... probably something I said... oh yes, I made the comment that I needed to pick up a dress without following it with "for my daughter."

My drink had gotten low, so I was tipping it to get at what was left. However, our swift waitress swapped out my drink with a refill under my nose so the next time I picked it up I spilled it into my food as I was tipping it needlessly. Fortunately I was mostly done with the main portion of my food. I did eat from the unaffected areas, but I tried to stay away from where there was ice.

Later, as I was adamantly arguing a point with my coworkers, I had an unexpected belch sneak up on me and create further embarrassment as it was largely unrestrained. And I was speaking when it came up, so it was like college all over again for a moment.

There were several other little things that happened throughout the day that created tiny points of embarrassment, but nothing like lunch. Most that know me, though, have come to expect these small, usually self-induced moments of non-composure. For it is the essence of Shawn.
