Hooked

(aka What rhymes with ducking?)

As intended, the girls got to do a little fishing today. We went to the birthday party of a friend's daughter. And that friend lives just off a lake. Though we were just throwing the fish back in after catching them, the girls had a lot of fun catching between 4-6 fish each. At one point there was like six kids fishing, but the number varied at times. Because of the number of kids, and the presence of traditional kid non-attentiveness to key risk factors, I so feared a terrible incident involving either hooks in places they shouldn't be, or an adult having to jump into the lake after a kid that had fallen in. Fortunately, there were only minor hooking incidents during baiting, and no unexpected swims.

Also fortunate, the kids were distracted enough with their fishing activities that they didn't notice the nearby ducks of opposite gender doing what ducks of opposite gender do in the Spring.

The kids were so worn out by the time we headed home that they both fell asleep in the car as soon as we hit the highway.
