I just heard on the news that former Philadelphia Phillie Tug McGraw died this afternoon. That sucks.
McGraw led the Phillies to their only world series title in 1980 and his was the very first Phillies baseball card I ever owned when I moved to Philadelphia in 1984.

What sucks further is that the day after he died, the 2004 baseball hall of fame inductees were announced, and he wasn't on the list. Maybe he didn't deserve to be, considering folks like Ryne Sandberg and Andre Dawson didn't make it this year, but that would have been some kind of well timed tribute had they written him in.
