WOW. No no... FREAKIN' wow. Of course, even this is an enormous understatement. I just got back from the Pearl Jam concert in support of their 2003 Riot Act Tour. OKC was the second show of the first U.S. leg, so those of you anticipating their arrival in your town have lots to be eager for.

It was a phenomenal show. Of course, it helps that my seat was third row center. Not quite as good as my 2000 Binaural Tour seats which were front row center, but I am definitely NOT complaining. The seats rocked. Feel free to check out my ticket. Anyway, they took care of all the "wish they had played" issues I had after I saw them in 2000. Don't get me wrong, that was a fantastic show, but there were key components missing. Well, tonight all is forgiven and much thanks goes out to the set list gods.

The show kicked off with Long Road and ended with the traditional (and excellent) Yellow Ledbetter after the second encore. And there were many great renditions of other PJ catalog staples, such as Daughter, Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town, Off He Goes, Untitled, Dissident, RVM, MFC, Corduroy, and Given to Fly. I'm sure I'm forgetting other greats. I didn't take the time to jot down the set list, but they covered ALL of the albums and did an overall awesome job. We even got to sing Happy Birthday to Eddie's brother Christopher and Keely the light operator girl.

No extra goodies of note from the show this year. Of course I picked up a tour shirt, but last tour I got a Jeff Ament pick that was thrown into the audience. This time around at least three picks were thrown immediately by me, I just failed to react quick enough to grab one. There was also a drumstick that went over me. BUT, I did get something. Are you ready? I got water. That's right, H2O. When a show is done they just start throwing things they don't need off the stage, including the unused bottles of water that didn't get used by the band. So now I got me some water that, for a time, was destined to be consumed by greatness. Think I could sell that on eBay?

Now all that remains is the anticipation of my concert CD. PJ sells "official bootlegs" of each of their shows and I pre-ordered the OKC show, which they say I should have by next week. Can't wait!
